The Hopi Opportunity Youth Initiative

Through the work of The Hopi Opportunity Youth Initiative and the Aspen Institute Forum for Community Solutions’ Opportunity Youth Forum, we have four pillars of focus: youth voice, forefront around mentoring, service learning, cultural well-being and data collecting to measure impact.

Since inception, the HOYI team has been the ‘tables and chairs’ to host essential conversation around youth development. Our relationships with community partners are vital and it is a continuous practice for us to garner those relationships and share our learning with one another. This has allowed us to develop MOUs, National Student Clearing Housing as a resource, protecting our partners when it comes to data and understanding the importance of trauma-informed care.

Areas of Collaborative Focus: K12 Education/Reengagement; Postsecondary education; Workforce.
